Assistant coaches have called plays or handled an increased workload in spot duty, but taking over as the head coach for a game is unprecedented. > > "Mike Vrabel deserves a lot of credit," Williams said in his first media availability since the switch was made. "Hopefully more coaches will give assistant coaches opportunities to do this because there's nothing better than actually getting the experience."

Fellow linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair got in Jones' face and the two had to be separated. Jones was ejected from the practice. Titans coach Mike Vrabel said the block would have been a penalty in a game. > > "We don't want to practice like that," Vrabel said. "We talk all the time about being competitive and going to that line, and certainly not going to do anything that hurts the team.
