They honestly seem to be done with high-end "enthusiast" GPUs. There is probably more money/potential for iGPUs and low/middle level products optimized for laptops.

Does the GPU memory type matter all that much relative to the whole package (i.e. the GPU in its totality)?
At 1080p you can get solid performance even on older GPUs. 1440p (not to mention 4K) is a whole different story.

Interesting approach.
Thanks for sharing.

Oppo also says that behind-the-scenes improvements speed up app installation by 26% while app responsiveness should be around 18% better.
18% increase in responsiveness sounds very high. And how was responsiveness even measured?

I did not expect this to happen so soon.

It's probably worth the price if you need such a large amount of storage on SDD.
That being said, it's pretty wild to see SSDs hit 8TB.

Hopefully, this does not go through. We need more competition, not less.

I remember seeing the russians do something similar (albeit it was literally a person in a robot costume).
This isn't as bad as having a person in a robot costume, but the general intent (deception and dishonesty) is the same.

I personally think the threat from ARM (as per current products). There is no reason to get a WoA Snapdragon X device unless you are specifically looking for such hardware.
Snapdragon X devices fails to match x86 (from both Intel and AMD) in terms of performance and efficiency advantages are marginal.
Nvidia and Mediatek's new laptop SoC might have something new to offer.

Perhaps this an early exploration initiative.
I can tell you that here in Ukraine we've been developing drone/autonomous tech with relatively limited resources. I guess necessity is truly the mother of innovation.

I don't know if I would consider it new, it's been available in a relatively mainstream way for over a decade.

The whole discussion seems a bit pointless, what else other than USB-C would one use?

This is pretty standard copytext for Qualcomm marketing.
They were promising the world before the release of the Snapdragon X and it barely was able to beat out current x86 offerings on efficiency, while not being able to match performance (I am ignoring the massive issues with software and peripheral compatibility for the sake of argument).

Wouldn't that also depend on support from downstream software/frameworks?
At the beginning of the year I was experimenting with Stable Defusion and I got the impression that support for AMD/Intel GPUs was lacking (I have a Nvidia GPU).
And I doubt AMD is going to offer any type great of deal; pricing is definitely going based on Nvidia but with a discount. It wouldn't make sense to do otherwise considering the relatively low levels of competition in this segment.

ARM, this is supposed to be their answer to Snapdragon X

It's a good channel to put on the second monitor.
Jauwn's relatively calm tone does work well with NFT game scheme overview videos. The semi-serious review approach honestly makes the whole thing even more entertaining.

You don't even need to go that far.
Just need real courts (based on principles of justice and sober interpretation of corruption and criminality) and proper incentives; full asset seizure and mandatory community service (decade minimum) working as a junior janitor at an Alzheimer patient facility, with restricted access to smartphones/computers and mobility restriction to the immediate area around the facility. You could even get minimum wage while taking part in your community service program.

I do find that business news on technology can offer a fine alternative to "tech journalism" (and they have strong sources), but the "superchip facility" framing is so lame.
