I used to love this game even though I was terrible at it.

It would be perfect now, though, to emulate the arcade version and enjoy without going through a million quarters.

I saved Microsoft Rewards Points specifically for this, so I ended up getting it for free. I would have been happy paying full price, though, but I'm just having so much fun with the game that I'm biased.

The other person here hit the nail on the head saying that certain modes aren't fleshed out yet, like the create a wrestler, but it just needs some updates. I am confident that they'll develop this mode and add a ton of options.

It is such a fun game! It really does remind me of the oldschool wrestling games. They do a great job with making the wrestlers feel unique and exactly like they act on TV (Orange Cassidy, for example, can fight a whole match worth his hands in his pockets). There are a bunch of fun Easter eggs that I won't spoil for you.

It is noticeable, though, that they didn't have the resources to devote to the create a character feature. However, this is something that would naturally be updated as time goes by.

Tag team matches are a bit fiddly because you can't tell your partner to come tag (as far as I know), and sometimes you'll go to tag him but he'll come into the ring instead. But the game doesn't take itself too seriously, so these are minor issues.

All of the mini games are a blast except for one (in my opinion) and they just add a bit of a distraction that spices things up. If you don't like them, you don't need to play them, there is no forcing the player one way or the other.

  • For those of us who pre-ordered, access to AEW Fight Forever is available a day early. I'm playing it now!

    Starfield

I don't tend to get too wrapped up in the next big thing, but the recent updates coming from Starfield developers have really piqued my interest. I'm hoping that it manages to achieve what they are intending with the game - it looks really ambitious!

Is there any feedback of the current blackout? Feels like everything will be over soon and it's going on like before.

This is exactly right. People who know their stuff and want to dig around advanced settings should be able to do so, but everybody else needs a simple app that works without any learning curve.

I couldn't figure how to PM using my app (Jerboa), but I'm very interested in getting an invite if somebody has an extra.

I was always a PlayStation guy because my friend was, and he was because his friends were. Then, as we grew older, I realized how absolutely toxic those friends were and I wanted to go anything to avoid them online. Right at that time, the Series S and X were released and - most importantly - I discovered what Game Pass was. I sold my PS4 immediately, bought an S (then an X shortly after) and I've finally never had more fun in my life.

I've always had terrible experiences with 3rd party accessories. I'm very happy that this is the first exception!!

  • I was (un)lucky enough to have two Xbox controllers get stick drift within a couple weeks of each other. I'm not mad - I played the heck out of these things. I replaced one of them with a nice "velocity green" controller and, for the second, found an incredible deal on Amazon for the 8BitDo Ultimate. It's a wired controller, which worried me because I don't sit terribly close to my TV, but the cable is almost 10 feet long. The quality is really nice. It's noticeably slightly smaller than the original controller, but it feels good. There is an app to customize everything about it, but I haven't felt it necessary to play with it yet. I'd be interested if anybody has experience with this or other third party controllers, especially to see how they hold up over time (and if they get such bad stick drift!).

I'm really late to the party with this game, considering it was released in 2015! I recently saw it on Xbox store for $6, including all sorts of DLC, and the reviews looked fantastic, so I jumped on it. I just sat down to play it today and I'd say that I got my $6 worth in the first 20 minutes. It was like playing Uncharted on my old PS, but with more action. So far the graphics are shockingly good - I cannot believe it is so old. I see that there is some sort of card system, and I got a ton of cards with the DLC/extras, but at this point I have zero clue what they do. Hopefully I'll have time through the week to play a bit more. Better late than never!

I have a rule that I will never pre-order a game, since I've seen people get stung before (I'm looking at you, Anthem). But I just pre-ordered AEW Fight Forever using the Microsoft reward points that I've been accumulating for a while, so I haven't even put a penny of my own money into it. I'm looking forward to the game's release.
