To me it is obviously all of these, but also I don't think the bottom two really exist as opposites. I think there can be a lot of overlap between being as close to another person as possible and a violent, animalistic act. Two people become the relationship between their bodies in that space of extreme contact and participation in a thing that necessarily is composed of both of them merged into the act. There can be an temporary erasing of both selves into the act. This isn't to say that there isn't a distinction between "making love" and "rutting," just that sometimes they share aspects.

Been thinking about re-inventing the elf in different ways lately. One that I think is potentially very fun is that they're ape-like, with bodies that are adapted to arboreal life - long arms, grasping feet, and the like. Like they were a parallel branch of humanoids that didn't abandon the trees for the grass, but like, with more tool use and language than modern great apes.

Getting back into Battle Brothers with the new Reforged mod. Really livens building bros up with semi-random perk lines, but it doesn't change as much as Legends does, which I'm enjoying (although I'm missing battle sisters.)

I truly believe this game remains as one of the peak turn-based tactics games mechanically, especially with some of the more dynamic perk abilities with this mod that encourage off-meta plays in vanilla like building around shieldwalls or managing fatigue beyond having enough to swing once.

I think some of the fundamental shiny spots of this game are the armor system (which abstractly models damage and penetration in a pretty tight fashion,) and morale and injuries, which ameliorate the supremacy of focusing down targets that's so common.

    Any other OCD sufferers here?

it's really become some nastybones business in the last couple few years. Like a totalizing thing that affects most of the things I do. In the course of writing this post I'm doing repetitions and that's just normal at this point. I frequently curate upvotes on my posts so they're not bad numbers. It's to the point where I have to go back and forth between tabs or closing and opening them to make sure it's not a bad number. It's even such that I am policing my motions with my hands so they're not bad. Even in the body of this post, I'm counting as much as I can in service of avoiding certain numbers of sentences or repetitions of words. Anyway, how do you all experience this disease and how do you cope with it?

Apologies for the length, I was just really enjoying the opportunity to write some slopping wet prose. I'll organize the journal entries by month and link them here. [Save file](https://mega.nz/folder/MsQiFCwR#GIMlyd1BQs1YhH7QHe5xrQ) --- ::: spoiler State of the fortress in brief Everything’s going pretty much fine in the fortress. I reorganized the military and have the squads patrolling between the two cavern entrances in shifts. At any point the bridges could be raised, but I left them open to encourage fun. One thing that I didn’t mention in the journal is that there are some warm walls in the lower caverns, which should indicate there’s a source of magma for future efficient industry and mischief. There were only two dwarf deaths that I can recall, as well as a birth or two. There was one moderate wave of migrants. I mostly let the upper fortress run itself, save for a little shuffling and building of guildhalls. The Countess either has all her needs met or only needs a little more in her bedroom. I had thought about reorganizing some of the offices, but I didn’t really get around to that. A number of rose gold coins have been minted. A small amount of bismuth bronze was made, I used some to decorate The Rose Chamber, which I intend to serve as a reliquary and landmark. It would also serve as a very fine temple complex for the local Stigilite sect, but it didn’t seem quite right for the roleplay and I didn’t want dwarves to be pulled up and down the fortress to visit it too much. So far the military has been able to tackle pretty much everything the caves have thrown up and probably won’t struggle against anything that isn’t made of very hard materials or producing toxic gas. The elves might get pissed if tree-cutting picks back up, probably not a huge concern unless someone wants to maintain peace for whatever reason. Suggestions for future players are to keep digging down, gain access to magma, and set up new industries like glass (if sand can be procured) or dyeworks. ::: --- Diary of ~~Likut~~ Regolith Togalkulet, Militia Commander [Granite](https://hexbear.net/comment/5374248) [Slate](https://hexbear.net/comment/5374249) [Felsite](https://hexbear.net/comment/5374250) [Hematite Malachite Galena](https://hexbear.net/comment/5374251) [Limestone Sandstone Timber](https://hexbear.net/comment/5374253) [Moonstone Opal Obsidian](https://hexbear.net/comment/5374277) ---
