I kinda think it should be flipped vertically, so that you have Florida in FNQ, and then NY/PA/MA running down NSW/VIC. Also get Texas for the NT, and Adelaide can be in Minnesota lol

Seems to match weather and politics a bit better, though idk if anything matches up on the west coast. Seattle for Perth? And would that make Broome San Francisco/LA? The US interior is a lot more noisy with states than Australia lol.

  • How many properties do politicians own? A public register provides the answer
  • No1 No1 5d ago 100%

So, it's about 65% (2 out of every 3!) of parliamentarians that own investment property. And possibly 5% that rent.

Contrast that with 20% of all taxpayers, or 14.9% of all Australians own an investment property. And 30% of all Australians rent. (Sources: investment, rent)

Not really representative of the population, is it?

The phrase that keeps popping into my head is "Elite ruling class"...

    Penrith or Melbourne?

So, who are you supporting for the Grand Final? I can't make my mind up. I don't want Penrith to win again. I hate dynasties, and I think it's better for the game when teams rise and fall. It's one of the benefits of a salary cap. But I don't like Melbourne, because of their historical rorting of the salary cap, ruining multiple seasons of the NRL. And the whole introduction of wrestling manoeuvres into footy. A lot of their game seems to be based on cheating or exploiting weaknesses in rukes rather than playing in the spirit of the game. Or do I just barrack for the referee, touchies and video reviewers?

I use old.reddit.com, and had trouble logging in from there today. "Too many redirects". I also use the Redirect to old.reddit.com extension. When I disabled that, the login link it now takes you to is https://www.reddit.com/login/. That, of course, takes you to www.reddit.com. The old 'popup' login box has been removed. I also noticed that the in sub logins where they used to have username/password entry boxes have been removed. More reddit enshitification to try and make us use their horrible UI.

Ok I have a confession to make. I often don't put tomato sauce on things that are ~~expected~~ required by Aussies to have tomato sauce. It's a shameful thing, and I don't want to talk about that. But, sometimes I *must* have tomato sauce. The bottle is almost empty, and after upgrading my BBQ sauce and Mayo, surely there is a great bang for the buck tomato sauce. [Choice](https://www.newidea.com.au/best-tomato-sauce-ketchup-in-australia) rated [Community Co A Squeeze of Tomato Sauce](https://communityco.com.au/cooking-needs-condiments/), available from IGA, as number 1 in 2019 from a list of over 20 tomato sauces/ketchups. Anyone tried this and can give me a recommendation and reasons on why I should try something else over this? Ima have to apologise in advance for being a questioning beotch that expects a reference to a scientific study for every statement...after quoting Choice 🤣

I thought that the media was a little over the top with reporting every electric car fire. Little did I realise just how blown out of proportion it was: "...electric vehicle battery fires are rare. Indeed, the available data indicate the fire risk is **between 20 and 80 times greater for petrol and diesel vehicles**. "

So, it appears the first SMR project in the US was scrapped due to rising costs. An Aussie SMR would take 10-15 years before even being online and we'd be the guinea pigs. Perhaps it's time to pivot to technology already available and that can be implemented in the short term?
