Oh god I didn't even realize this would be an issue in the furry community when I wrote the post on tumblr and just ooof. Sorry you have to deal with that and it's a shame that there aren't more furries interested in biological accuracy.
Posting because it's frustrating how often I see nonbinary folks say they want to "transition to intersex" just noooo that's not what intersex is. Like congrats on figuring out body transition goals but just that idea that "intersex is ambiguous genitals and that's all there is to it" kept me in the closet about being intersex for years.
I co-organize an online intersex-themed book club. It's a place for intersex people to meet fellow intersex people and talk about intersex themes in literature. Perisex allies are welcome too. We're reading the Left Hand of Darkness this month, next month we're gonna read a little bit of academic intersex studies, and looks like in October we'll be reading some short stories.

Saw it posted on tumblr. No idea how the findings hold up in 2023 or internationally but still really sweet to learn more about other intersex people!

So glad I saw this video before actually trying to read it, and glad to have it on hand every time I see Middlesex get put on lists of queer books (sigh)

Keeping with the theme of the community. I am so tired of seeing perisex sci-fi fans say that all the <insert aliens species that can reproduce as both male and female> are intersex. Not how it works folks!
