Looking back at HMD's models after 2020 I think this is pretty plausible, with how all their smartphones during this period are likely ODM model - you can tell with how they all use the same Unisoc or MediaTek SoCs.
I mean, only smartphones that are outsourced to Chinese ODMs would ever use these chips, you'll see this with other brands too.
Perhaps zombie brand mode would also be a suitable term, if not for the recent Skyline and Fusion which feels like genuine efforts from HMD.

Thank you for the comment, some of the better tips I've seen in ages if I have to be honest.
Here's to you, AnandTech - thank you for the detailed smartphone reviews all these years.
Back when I was a high-school student in this 2017 - 2019 era, HMD released a lot of different devices, including a diverse smartphone portfolio covering every segment imaginable. What caused them to drop this strategy in such a short time, and went forward with a strategy focusing on affordable smart-and-feature-phones? For example, the 9 PureView was their last flagship released in 2019, and its successor 9.3 PureView [never materialized](https://www.gsmarena.com/nokia_93_pureview_5g_reportedly_delayed_until_next_year-news-46471.php). I suppose you can blame it on declining sales - from what I could find, HMD's sales indeed took a nosedive in 2020, but a more concrete answer would be much appreciated here.

No shit, not everyone can shell out money for an iPhone or your typical flagship Android phone, even in the US.

I myself use Google's Quick Share for this. Falling that, the Send Anywhere app can also work - it's not the fastest compared to Quick Share, but pretty reliable long as you have decent internet.

Same, I use Windows and I'm not ashamed for it at all.
Since you're getting downvoted for this I assume I will get the same treatment lol

Escape from Tarkov, but with the single player mod and further addon mods for AI, ballistics, QoL features etc. With enough mods Tarkov can be the most realistic FPS shooter around with an excellent body armor system and ballistics that actually makes sense imo.

Lol no, AE86s are both fixed and pop up and these designation are used for different engine/chassis. The AE86 gets 1.6L 4A-GE, meanwhile AE85 gets the weaker 1.5L 3S-GE.

How is that not a valid metric for choosing a phone? The way I see it, it's not really any different to choosing a phone for its camera performance or battery life.

There are good mobile games too, and emulation. I have a decent laptop to play games on and I still prefer my phone for gacha titles everyday over Android emulation on PC.

While I have seen a few instances like this on Reddit, they were always at least 6 month old posts, and none that's from the recent ad crisis. So yeah, not much to conclude here imo.

American-made Hyundais and Kias are of a different breed indeed, if Korean cars are as 1/10 as unreliable in my country Hyundai/Kia would have their public perception fell through the bottom lol.

That's just their marketing team at work, I find that hard to believe tbh.

My 5 something years old Fenix 5s still works great with like, a week and a half battery still lol. So yes, it's just that brands like Garmin don't advertise as much as Apple's.

Same, Garmin has made me swear off from owning any modern smartwatches. I mean having to charge every other day is just nuts lmao

Stop it, don't give Google ideas or they will turn to Android next lol

Knowing Google I wouldn't be surprised at all if they do remove Play Books and fuck over all the customers, just for that 1% increase in profits lol.
Gen Z kid here and I actually like this lol, I hope this isn't a sign of me turning into a boomer early.

Would anyone actually buy it though?
Sedans sale have declined massively in the US, to the point where enthusiast-ish offerings in the budget/mid-range sector are all but gone. And this is the US AKA car enthusiast heaven we're talking about lol, there's no way in hell Mazda can sell a RWD, inline-6 sedan outside of NA without incurring huge losses imo.

I wouldn't recommend the C700N if ANC is important, since it's ANC is quite weak and passable at best compared to the LinkBuds S or WF-1000XM4.

Fairphones have always used Qualcomm SOCs, there's nothing new here. I don't understand the fuss here if I'm being honest.
Unpopular opinion but I really like this gen's exterior design, peak Accord even. Thank heavens this isn't Reddit or I would immediately be stoned by the hivemind lol.
Never before have I been so excited for a beta app. Thank you Ljdawson!
Man the chemistry between Mark and Jack here are just great. Perharps more so than previous videos. Maybe it's just me being too much of a weirdo to not spot the fakeness in it? Personally as someone who's a sucker for comfortable sedans, this is exactly what I want in a car! Comfortable, good and spacious interior, yet still fast enough. Shame that the speaker, according to Mark, is just ordinary though.
"There's a reason beyond number of available stations that explains why Ford, GM, and others are adopting Tesla's charging infrastructure."
F, who's next I wonder?
What do you think about the new CX-90? I kinda like it, though not sure if it will successfully elevate Mazda's reputation to that of a traditional luxury nameplate just yet.
