I voted for it. Seems the best way to avoid electing extremists. Some 30% of polled respondents say it's too confusing, but I think they'll figure it out

If it isn't soon, we may get president Vance...

I think it's definitely better. A lot more foot traffic, even if there aren't as many business types on break. I went in 2021 for a passport and it was plywooded-up buildings, homeless people, and cops. Much better now, even though I feel like Portland is in a transition to being less big-business dependent. As for the poll, I'm guessing people just haven't been there in awhile

His handlers have convinced him that the more people see of him, the less they like him. Trumpists always make up whatever they want to think he means anyways. So it's good strategy - I just can't believe that this is the government that we deserve.

So we could give each of them $3000 per month (for rent, food, counseling, etc) and we'd still save money. It's hard to disbelieve the adage "the cruelty is the point"

On the other hand, could we require LLMs to include hidden characters in their output as a way to fingerprint them (and cut down on student copy/paste cheating)?

Can always rent an electric 3/4" snake from a box store for under $50 I think. Make sure you're close to the feed point or you'll be wrestling with sewage-soaked coil. I'd go from the floor drain that is backing up if you don't have a toilet you can pull right next to it. Goal is to feed it to the sewer main. Scoping is the right answer, but a powered snake rental and an hour of dirty work has a chance of giving you some breathing room.

Cheapest way to deal with The Homeless is to give them homes. We're wasting money on cruelty

As a PC player, I'm glad our hardware cousins get to play 1.6 - it's a good update and ConcernedApe again going above and beyond. What I'm most excited for though is that this may mean Haunted Chocolatier gets back into development. Fields of Mistria did a good job scratching the itch before I ran out of Early Access content, but I'm really looking forward to seeing what Barrone comes up with in his next game

I'm for UBI at the federal level, but everything I've read/heard about the details of 118, including from my tax lawyer sister, is that it's terribly written and would be bad policy as a result. We've had some wacky referendums in Oregon over the years, a lot of naive good intentions. I'll probably have to dust off my reading glasses for the text of 118, because if we try UBI and it fails, it'll be a warning example to discourage everyone else - the same way that the decriminalization-without-recovery-support was

All the people pointing out that Biden doesn't have the power to pass laws, only support or veto, are correct. One other aspect is that Biden is sort of a grudging supporter of abortion rights due to his traditional Catholic upbringing. One imagines Harris would be a more enthusiastic advocate

Fields of mistria, early access farming sim that borrows heavily from stardew but has been the only one I've really enjoyed since stardew. Worth a look if you've got that cozy itch. Good npc dialogue, less grindy feeling

I always thought AR was a real use case for technicians, travellers, even specialty games. Hope it becomes a real thing, not just a gimmick
I remember them giving a heads-up when the next season's trailer drops (usually a couple weeks after season finale) but I haven't heard anything yet
