And because as you say, it'd never be $1, it's also a way to keep the poorest in society in their place, as if having to pay for travel, and have clean and suitable clothes, and possibly take time away from a current job just to have a superficial initial interview, never mind any subsequent interviews, aren't big enough barriers for those already struggling to feed themselves.

No, and while less food waste is a positive, from what I can find even in France it is only illegal for fresh food retailers (who are only responsible for 14% of waste, and also get massive tax breaks for the pleasure of donating it), not manufacturers (agriculture, processing plants, restaurants, collectively responsible for at least 67% of waste), and for insight in to why, here is an excerpt from 1939 book The Grapes of Wrath:

“The works of the roots of the vines, of the trees, must be destroyed to keep up the price, and this is the saddest, bitterest thing of all. Carloads of oranges dumped on the ground. The people came for miles to take the fruit, but this could not be. How would they buy oranges at twenty cents a dozen if they could drive out and pick them up? And men with hoses squirt kerosene on the oranges, and they are angry at the crime, angry at the people who have come to take the fruit. A million people hungry, needing the fruit- and kerosene sprayed over the golden mountains. And the smell of rot fills the country. Burn coffee for fuel in the ships. Burn corn to keep warm, it makes a hot fire. Dump potatoes in the rivers and place guards along the banks to keep the hungry people from fishing them out. Slaughter the pigs and bury them, and let the putrescence drip down into the earth.

There is a crime here that goes beyond denunciation. There is a sorrow here that weeping cannot symbolize. There is a failure here that topples all our success. The fertile earth, the straight tree rows, the sturdy trunks, and the ripe fruit. And children dying of pellagra must die because a profit cannot be taken from an orange. And coroners must fill in the certificate- died of malnutrition- because the food must rot, must be forced to rot. The people come with nets to fish for potatoes in the river, and the guards hold them back; they come in rattling cars to get the dumped oranges, but the kerosene is sprayed. And they stand still and watch the potatoes float by, listen to the screaming pigs being killed in a ditch and covered with quick-lime, watch the mountains of oranges slop down to a putrefying ooze; and in the eyes of the people there is the failure; and in the eyes of the hungry there is a growing wrath. In the souls of the people the grapes of wrath are filling and growing heavy, growing heavy for the vintage.”

73% of Young US Voters should open their eyes and realise that the entire state mechanism is owned by capitalists, and that they would never let anyone who threatens their profits get in to power.

Then they should start reading up on anarchism, and start getting serious about enacting change instead of continuing to play along by the rules the capitalist state has set out for them and expecting said change to somehow materialise out of a system that has, and will continue to, put all of its might in to preventing it.

Employers aren’t a collective either though

And here lies the fucking problem.

Grow some fucking solidarity, bootlicker, you have more in common with a sweatshop worker in Sri Lanka than you do with your CEO.

E: I'm still waking up and misread "employer" for "employee", but my point still stands: you're a bootlicker who needs to grow some solidarity and realise that your employer sees you, and every other employee, as nothing but a dollar sign there to make them money, no matter how many times they tell you you're "family". Their interests will never deliberately intersect with yours unless it is so you produce more value for them.

    Workers of the world unite.

    Fuck self serving bootlickers.

Starmer never hid his intentions, it's those now surprised by his actions who were hiding their heads in the sand because it was just so much easier than confronting what they've done to the party in the name of "electability".

    Exactly.

People not being able to tell the difference between tankie rhetoric ("put all of the bourgeoisie up against the wall and everyone I disagree with in the gulag!!12") or even plain old anti-communist propaganda, and actual leftist views is for them to figure out with themselves. I said what I said, and I mean it as I said it (including saying that I don't even think it's necessary to kill all billionaires, never mind anyone bellow them, which they conveniently ignore).

I need to go back and do this quest again so I can retake the photo now that I actually have the floating meditation emote to match! Also, trying on the Cozy Hermit Cape during the Style event (and completely falling in love with it only to find that of course it's an IAP), has really put me in the mood for some winter outfits, and this will be the perfect location to hang out once they arrive (that whole climb up to the mountain is great).

I'd logged in a couple of times earlier and been the only person in the game. I did have a friend light me in their constellation while I was cr-ing, but I never got a chance to see them (this person often logs on for really short times though). A peek at libreddit confirmed that there is a server issue and this was pretty much game wide. I logged in again now, and was alone for a good half hour. Just finishing up geyser when I finally merged with some other people! 🎉😂 On the one hand, I really appreciated the emptiness and not having other people suddenly flash bang you or get in your way, but it also highlighted how much cooperation there actually is in the game - trying to do geyser and grandma alone was a real pain in the ass, and I had to skip big wax drops I knew I couldn't do alone like the big plant in Sanctuary or the 8 player door. Glad it's fixed now!

Not that I plan to check in _that_ often, but it looks like whatever instrument is available at the catwalk is also available to you in your nest for that hour, and if you have the instrument stand, you can put it on there and **keep it!!!** (in your nest, as far as it seems for now). I did not find this out on my own (lurk reddit via libreddit), but I tried it now, and it works! I'm not sure exactly what steps you have to do, but I visited the catwalk to confirm what was available, and when there was an instrument I then went to my nest, placed the stand, and there they were, all the available props from the hourly selection, and you can pop the instrument on the stand, and there you have it! I currently have the lute, but am hoping something more interesting comes along, people have got an ultimate electric guitar, so I'm really really hoping for the Aurora voice, though I'll settle for a lot less lol

In general I'm really liking Jamali style, though I do think that at times he makes the people he's interviewing feel a little _too_ comfortable. I understand that they need to be, so that they open up (and don't turn on him), but also there's a level of comfort and chumminess that Nazis and the likes don't deserve, and I feel like he crossed that line a couple of times (not accusing him of supporting or agreeing with them or anything, to be clear, but I'd much rather he didn't have to do that). Either way, they're definitely worth watching. [Hate Thy Neighbour](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6507028/) [Follow the Leader](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt33349703/)

My first ticket based event, and I really misunderstood what was going on, thinking I could save up for the cloud cape not realising it was an IAP (I think I thought that like in seasons, more items would become available as the event progressed, and that "x days remaining" was to that point. I was also not able to get breezewiki to work and I refuse to use fandom lol), so ended up missing out on the table and teacup headband altogether (event just ended on me lol) 😭 But at least I got a bunch of these silly photos with Cinnamoroll each day lol
