I loved it, put it well above Prometheus and Covenant. Loved the worldbuilding of the corporate-owned mining planets.

As is tradition, the acting by the android (David Jonsson) was a highlight. I loved the range he got to display across the movie.

::: spoiler spoiler here the Alien-human hybrid was suitably disturbing :::

Its no Alien 1 or Alien 2 but I had a great time.

Whole family, trading sinus virus back and forward for 3 weeks.

Only upside is that my wife held it off until I got better.

Is there anywhere I can see the original post? I feel like there is a fair point to be made that a vegan diet for cats could be possible.

I support the removal of misinformation, but surely that is a fair point to make.

I took part in a postgraduate course on evolutionary biology, and we talked about ring species, and the problems with all the definitions of species.

The end conclusion most of us came to was that there is no generally useful definition of a species.

In a parallel universe, someone is memeing about how teachers waste our time on useless stuff and never taught us to convert between units.

    Exactly.

If I dream of sex, I know what that’s about: I want sex.

If I dream that a snake has caused my teeth to fall out, I’m going to google to find out what the fuck is wrong with me.

Two that stand out: highly religious Nigeria, where people who dream of sex are googling what is wrong with them, and highly irreligious France, where people who dream about an ex are googling what is wrong with them.

All I know is you shouldn't drink a ton of red gatorade midway through a night of heavy drinking.

When you start to throw up, your friends will assume you are vomiting blood and call an ambulance or possibly an exorcist.

Cool idea, but I spent a lot of time amongst people who believed in star signs when I was young.

They will say "Virgo: the most generous star sign, OMG that's so me. I like, super generous", despite the fact they have never given a cent in charity in their life.

None of it influenced their behaviour apart from the 'lucky numbers', which probably got them buying a few more lotto tickets.

No joke. What exactly don't you understand?

People in the US have been burning carbon at an extraordinary rate since the Industrial Revolution, in the 1900s.

Still to this day they burn carbon at a rate of 14.44 tonnes per person per year.

Chinese people burn 8.85 tonnes per person per year.

They burn that carbon running cars, generating electicity, living their lives.

If we are measuring how much CO2 countries have contributed, China has decades of shitty energy production up on the US. They may be a ruthless authoritarian communist state, but they are the not the ones responsible for climate change.

Also, half of the emissions they create are producing your cheap plastic crap to be bought on Amazon
