Reading back through all of my comments has been a helpful reminder of who I am

alt title: "I guess this is why people with executive functioning skills journal" Since I logged back in after being away from Hexbear for around a year and a half, I've been rereading my old comments. The last few years have been really tumultuous for me personally and it's been really helpful to have a bunch of little snapshots of who I am and where my head's been at since Hexbear opened. I'm AuDHD and have a really diffuse sense of self a lot of the time, so it's been nice getting re-acquainted with my own personality (hopes, dreams, desires, insecurities, interests, values, and everything else) especially after some drawn-out periods of burnout, depression, and just being in survival mode. I like who I am. I'm a lot kinder than I remember. That's been helpful for guiding some of my goals and and reminding myself of what I value for getting my life back to a happier place again, too. Plus it's been good refreshing myself on my opsec lies so I can feel comfortable not deleting my old comments and preserve my thought record for the future  The comment-reread has been a great reminder about how I really like this place. I've had a ton of fantastic conversations with the comrades here, learned all sorts of things, helped people and received help myself. The argument-to-positive-convo ratio in my comment history is honestly way lower than I even thought it would be. Huge shout out to all of the comrades here (posters and mods alike) for making it the least-terrible place on the internet

Red Velvet - Happiness [Exposing Hexbear to Kpop: day 2]

Happiness, the debut track of Kim Jong Un's favorite kpop group from cringe Korea, originally featured scenes that included imagery of 9/11 and newspapers headlines highlighting the genocidal Amerikkkan empire's atomic bombing of Japan during WWII. The song is a quintessential light summer bop. The group was pushed to debut early (without their youngest fifth member Yeri) in order to drown out bad press their company was facing at the time.

Any good resources for identifying fascist tattoos?

The last couple months, I've seen an increase in people with various neonazi, white supremacist, and fash tattoos - just picked up some info for identifying them over the years hanging out in lefty spaces. My wife wanted to learn some of the more common ones so she can identify fash when I'm not around, and I want to refresh my memory, so we can be more cautious around potentially-dangerous fash. Anyone know of good resources for identifying them?

I logged off for like a year and a half, what did I miss?

My mental health got into a weird superposition of "better" and "worse" so my brain reshuffled all of my interests and hobbies and the grillpill ones came out on top. But after the last ~~decade~~ week it felt like time to come home to the most powerful posters. Noticed we've got PvP enabled now  Anything else interesting happen recentlyish? Any good struggle sessions?

I love the way you think and the way you care about things that other people rarely consider and I love the way you talk about things that you care about. I hope you get to unmask for a good long while and maybe never start masking again. I wish the world was less hostile for us, because we deserve to be understood and not have to spend so much of our energy trying to navigate the gauntlet laid out for us by neurotypical capitalists. The wheat harvest in the US is gonna be fucked this year btw

Anecdotal and I'd love to be wrong about this, buuuut I'm in the rural midwest rn and all of the wheat fields in like a 75 mile radius from me look like they're absolutely fucked. It's basically all turned gold already which is super early for it, especially because it's still short as fuck, like maybe a foot tall — it's usually still green until it's like 4 feet tall. The people who've lived here for a long time have been talking about how abnormal it is. I'm not a wheat scientist and haven't really gotten into with anyone who knows what they're actually talking about so I don't totally know what it means, but I know it doesn't mean anything good Prob a good idea to stock up on food if you've got the means :doomer:

idk who needs to hear this, but it's okay to like things, even if other people don't like them or they're liberal or they were made by horrible people

honestly earth sucks too much to worry about the things that get the happy neurotransmitters going in your brain. Like maybe don't support awful people or buy into terrible ideologies, but no one's gonna know if you torrent and watch a harvey weinstein film or the west wing or something.
