So I am planning to build a mob farm on a survival server. I intend on building it very high up. I was wondering if I should build it over the ocean or over land. I know mobs spawn better over an ocean because they can't spawn in the water, but what if I build it very high up over land? Is the efficiency the same for a mob farm built very high up over land and a mob farm build high over an ocean? Hi, im looking to start creating mods, specifically for client side. Youtube seems to have tutorials for things like entity, block and item creation however I cant find anything for client side. I want to start by create simple on screen mods like a diamond counter, to track how many diamonds I have gotten in a session. So for something simple like that, id need to check the inventory and display it. However I am not sure how to go about even this simple task. Any help would be appreciated. If anyone would like to give advice, another mod I plan on creating is a chat macro mod, so when I press a keybind, I want it to type a command in chat. I know theres mods that do this, I just want to practice and learn, however I have no clue where to start for any of this.
I’m looking for japanese weapons in the minecraft marketplace on nintendo switch, and i can’t find one that i don’t have to create a new world for. I want to add them to a world i’ve already created. Any ideas? Can I even do this?
Hey guys, I just tediously migrated my account and when I try to launch the game (minecraft: Java edition) it prompts me to enter my username, I then wrote my old username, and it didn't work, so I checked namemc, and apparently it is still attributed to my now deleted mojang account, please help me, I really liked this username and all my old friend on minecraft know me by it.
so imma recount the minecraft animation stuff I remember the youtuber has only a few videos uploaded and he started the channel and videos to deal with grief of losing a person the vidoe starts out while moving away sideways from a tree, the leaves and tree have wind flowing thru them. The shot changes to the main character sitting against a tree looking at a picture, the wind grabs said picture and whisks it away. The shot changes to another person coming towards the mc, they stare at each other intimidatingly and start a fight, it's evenly matched up. The mc I think gets beat to a pulp at some point and he has a flashback to the past, during the flashback he wakes up in a bed, gets up, contemplates something and when he goes out of the house there are too lines I forgot what they said, but he starts to walk away from people he saw, but then he turns around and starts to run towards those people, as he runs past them they one by one start to run with him. When he gets to where he was running towards, he sees the girl and another one talking and doesn't approach them. After looking at them he comes back to reality, goes super sayan and I remember his eyes being lit up and lightning sparkling, he does a lot of combos, teleporting from one place to another one and finally slams the bad guy into the ground, there is a big explosion, it's a white light and blocks scatter everywhere. After that I forget what happened, but it ends by the screen showing the picture that flew out of the mc's hand at the start. During the flashback there is a song playing called Demons by Imagine Dragons, the song part that is playing is "I wanna hide the truth I wanna shelter you But with the beast inside There's nowhere we can hide No matter what we breed We still are made of greed This is my kingdom come This is my kingdom come" and "They say it's what you make I say it's up to fate It's woven in my soul I need to let you go Your eyes, they shine so bright I wanna save that light I can't escape this now Unless you show me how" It's either a mashup of them or something, I don't remember a lot about it, but that's about it I also remember that the mc had a ninja mask on and maybe wore a green hoodie, the youtubers account was something weird with letters and I think might have contained like "ninja" or "animations" in it as well as letters like "xyz", I think the creator became inactive and I think I found it around 2015 or so (edited)

what is the largest structure built in Minecraft ?
So I am building a HSrry potter world in Minecraft Education. I really want some Harry potter themed skins for the NPCs. But i dont know how to import them. I know how to change the skins on myself, but not the NPCs. Does anyone know if its possible in this version?
Everytime I play minecraft I get around 130-190 ping but recently I've been getting 300 even 400 ping on minecraft serevrs. Usually I get an error saying "java.io.IOException: An existing host connection was forcefully closed by the remote host". I did some research on it and apparently its because my ping is too high and I get kicked out of the server. So I want to know if I can somehow bypass this and still continue playing with my terrible, high ping. I also asked my ISP if something was wrong with our internet but they said the're working on fixing some issues and I don't think the bad internet speeds will be clearing up anytime soon. Any help would honestly help me out a bunch but its unlikely there's a solution but I'm just asking in case.
I am on a server for me and my friends. I have 2 ppl in my house with me since they are too lazy to build their own. (well one of them is moving out now). I am decorating the house cuz i am that sort of guy. I have sweet berries on the walls, red, green and gold carpet down, santa style banners up. A massive feast table, two spits roasting (mangrove) peices of meat over fires. I was considering making a christmas tree inside, but the roof is only three blocks high and i couldnt figure out a nice compact design. I wa sthinking of an end crystal on the top too, but since i am in a server with prankful friends, i thought that a bit dodgey. I have 2 bells up. What else should i add? Not looking christmassy enoguh Imo.

what’s the point of villages before 1.3.1?
Stuff like sugar cane growing faster on sand for example. I know that is not true but I am just using it as an example.
I was playing my Java world earlier and I just noticed that no matter how much xp I collected, it didn’t make my xp bar go up at all. After I noticed this, I did EVERYTHING I could find to try and fix it and nothing worked. I tried restarting my computer, I tried resetting all the settings on my game, I tried making a backup and deleting my world and then opening the saved backup again only to find that nothing had changed. I’m making a lot of progress in this world and I’ve worked really hard on it. I would hate to lose it. Any suggestions??
In *ye old days*, hostile mobs ran at you in a straight line. This made them faster and harder to juke than today's mobs which use a grid-based path-finding algorithm where mobs can only move in 45 degree angle increments. This new algorithm is of course better at avoiding walls and pits, however on flat land with no obstacles, old path-finding was more fierce. Neither system is perfect. If possible, I'd love to see a system that gets the best parts from both systems, whether from an update or a mod. Am I the only person to notice the differences, or is this something you have thought about too?
I haven’t seen a recent post about this, But i am keeping villagers in a room close to a nether portal, so iron golemns spawn and sometimes get in the portal, so i wanted to see how many went through the portal When i went through the portal it exploded 🧍🏻♀️ The portal its blocked so it couldn’t have been a ghast, and in the overworld is well lit so it couldn’t have been a creeper, nor did i hear a creeper hissing. There are no mods, just vainilla, its survival bedrock. Does anyone know anything?
I need to to get rid of an island in the ocean because it’s in range of my raid farm. I don’t want the Illagers from the raid to spawn there.
If I create a new world with snapshot content enabled, will I be able to update it and access future snapshot content on that world, or is a new world needed whenever new snapshot content is released? If I can update it, will that also work for a multiplayer server or realm?
Hello! I'm wanting to add books to my library in Minecraft with in game information from the pov of a villager studying Minecraft. And I didn't know if it was possible, but I think it would be cool to include some way to find coordinate values. I've never been big on math but it seems like it would be a cool challenge to find coordinates using only the world of the game, and for it to be able to apply from any (over world) location. Has anyone already found out how to do this?
i'm trying to host a mnecraft server from my pc at my house, but can't do so on my home network. i port forwarded using the router of my friend who i am going to play with, said friend being \~15 miles away from me. in the sever properties, i have the server ip set as my IPv4 address, but when i try to connect to the server, it just times out. i'm assuming this has something to do with me using my friends router? but if not please lmk, and if there are workarounds anything would be greatly appreciated. thanks
I got a new laptop a few weeks ago, and it has been amazing upto a couple days ago. I usually get around 400 fps while playing minecraft. And when I start up it’s around there, but after like a minute it drops to 80 max. I thought maybe it was using the wrong GPU (the dedicated one instead of the nvidia) and tried forcing javaw to run on it, that wasn’t the case either. I’ve tried reinstalling drivers and everything (using ddu’s) and couldn’t find a solution. I’ll list my specs down below, appreciate any help. 13th gen Intel Core-i7-13620H 16GB Ram Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 6GB laptop gpu 512 GB SSD
I wanted to ask if someone could help me figure out this problem. I host a Minecrafter server for my friends and me. They can connect normally through the Ip and already forwarded Port (25565). But than after like 30 min to 1 hour if they disconnect, they can't reconnect unit i restart the server. Players can still play without any problems, if they don't disconnect. No one gets kicked. The error the person gets when the try to reconnect is just a normal "Time Out". Any ideas?

Okay so I started a world the other day, and I’ve spent a decent amount of time building a base with my friends. I needed some glow stone so I thought I’d just quickly go to the nether, but when I spawned in the nether I was in a tiny cave. I can’t dig out anywhere because of lava, and any other portal I place in the over world brings me to the same location. But then when I try and go back to the over world it just spawns me in this random cave no matter what I do. I lost a diamond pick and all my armour because the most recent time I went through I suffocated to death and my stuff disappeared. It’s starting to really tick me off because I really like what I’ve built in this world, and don’t want to start over.

helloo, I just started playing Minecraft so im sorry if i get any terminology wrong...but I was wondering how (or if) I can prevent a certain situation from happening. I have a tamed wolf in a server with my friend...but every time my friend successfully tames a wolf of their own, my dog attacks the new dog and kills it unprovoked. Is there a way I can prevent this because their new dog has died like 3 times :(((
Hey all, playing on a realm rn with friends. I built this dope red stone staircase that’s flush with the floor, and a Tflip flop so I can open it from both sides. Only problem is every-time I open this thang it teleports me and my friends to spawn if we are close to it. Anyone know what’s going on?
I'm attempting to set up a Bedrock LAN-only server for crossplay on PC + Nintendo Switch. I have the server up and running in an Ubuntu VM. I changed the DNS server on my Switch to that 104.x address that allows you to connect to private LAN servers on Switch. I can connect on both PC and on Switch successfully. However, on Switch I can only seem to use my account that's tied to my Nintendo Switch Online Individual membership. When I grab a second Switch controller, press + and attempt to join in split-screen, I get a message saying that "Multiplayer Game" needs to be disabled (which is greyed out, of course as it is even for Switch-hosted servers and needs to be edited from the worlds menu instead of in-game). I assumed this setting would be tied to the [server.properties](https://server.properties) "online-mode" setting, but setting that to "false" didn't change anything. Does anyone know how to disable "Multiplayer Game" for a Bedrock dedicated server? Is it somehow set in the world .dat file itself, or is it a different option in the [server.properties](https://server.properties) that I'm not seeing? TIA
I have tried absolutely everything and cannot get minecraft java to run. built a new pc and installed minecraft and nothing works. at first i couldn’t even get the launcher to open and now i can’t get the game to run without immediately getting hit with a “Exit code 1”. can ANYONE HELP? and no i dont mod ive seen where this is an issue with modders but like i said i literally just installed the game, no mods and nothing fancy. not even a texture pack… please help im at my wits end with this issue
For my minecraft world, it is a style of play me and my friends play on and it's where we build a city in survival with creative elements. Example. The owner of the world can go in creative and survival but everyone else is in survival. Everyone gets one chance for creative to build their first store and then it's survival from there on. The currency is specially made. I had to load a world on the PS4 legacy edition to enchant iron and diamonds and emeralds because bedrock doesn't allow that. Then booted up the world to bedrock so that counterfeit currency can't be replicated and inflation is steadily controlled. Thoughts?
So i'm trying to migrate my mojang account to a microsoft one with the post migration process (until December 18th i believe) but i keep getting this error. I have successfully created a Minecraft server using a computer I have, and I am able to connect to the server using other computers on my network. However, my friends can't join my server, and it seems my port is closed. I made sure my port forwarding details were correct, and I made sure the port was getting through my anti-virus and firewall, but it still says it's closed. I've looked up quite a few different tutorials but they all have the same information. I'm at a loss of what to do, so any help would be appreciated.

My friend recently started a modded server using Better MC 1.19.2 through Forge, and I played for maybe 10 minutes the most until the server kicked us both and apparently during that I died. So when I tried to come back, the server loads and I see a second of the void then all I see is "Loading Terrain..." I've tried Uninstalling both the mod pack and minecraft itself(along with all files), and still the same. So I need help figuring out what's happening and how to fix it. Thank you
